Through service-learning projects and community partnerships, Bryant students have:
- Changed the tax status of an animal rescue farm.
- Provided marketable skills to incarcerated youth.
- Designed courses to assist first-generation college students.
- Consulted on communication strategies for a local nonprofit serving immigrants and refugees.
- Taught English and computer skills to residents of a fishing village in the Dominican Republic.
Community Engagement Beyond the Classroom
In addition to academically connected service-learning projects, Bryant students can participate in immersive community engagement and volunteer experiences throughout the year.
Through volunteer initiatives, service trips, and local partnerships, students work alongside communities locally and globally while developing leadership, cultural awareness, collaboration, and civic responsibility.
Spring Break Service Experiences
Students have participated in immersive service trips to communities including the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota and Puerto Rico, partnering with organizations focused on community support, environmental restoration, accessibility projects, and sustainability initiatives.
Projects have included:
- Home repair and accessibility work
- Community gardening and sustainability efforts
- Environmental restoration projects
- Food and resource support initiatives
- Community space revitalization
These experiences combine hands-on service with cultural engagement and reflection, helping students build meaningful connections and broaden their understanding of community impact.
Local Community Engagement
Throughout the year, Bryant students also participate in campus and Rhode Island-based community initiatives, including nonprofit partnerships, meal site support, campus cleanups, beautification projects, and community volunteer opportunities.

Impact Core
91全能大神 general education curriculum 鈥 known as the Impact Core 鈥 gives you a holistic education rooted in social impact, while also preparing you for a meaningful career. In the experiential 鈥淕eneral Education Capstone鈥 course, you鈥檒l collaborate with a community partner to tackle a real-world problem.
Capstones and Directed Studies
Many Bryant academic programs culminate in a senior capstone project or directed study. Work independently or with a team to develop a solution for a real-world problem, or dive into an in-depth research project on a topic that interests you. Our faculty advisors will guide you throughout the process.
