20 Jun 2025

Celebrating Student Creativity and Expression

91È«ÄÜ´óÉñ proudly launched its first-ever Book Week Slam Poetry Competition, inviting students from Years 7 to 12 to share their unique perspectives on the theme of ‘Adventure’. The event, held in partnership between the English Department and Library and Information Services Team as part of Book Week, showcased the vibrant creativity and enthusiasm of our student body.

The competition provided an exciting platform for young poets to express their thoughts in innovative ways, moving beyond traditional forms of communication. Students embraced the opportunity to craft original poetry, exploring the impact and power of language while reflecting on what ‘Adventure’ means to them.

Judges were delighted by the high level of student participation and the quality of the performances. The event saw a wide range of poetic styles and interpretations, with students demonstrating both creativity and confidence in their presentations.

The English Department expressed its appreciation for the support and engagement from both participants and the audience. The positive response to the inaugural competition has set the stage for future poetry slams, with the School looking forward to making this a cherished annual tradition.
